KNOW ME BETTER

Hi, I'm Vartika

Let me introduce myself properly

A counselling psychologist who doesn't believe in scripts, jargon or pretending that therapy has to be stiff and mechanical. One year of teaching college students, three years of taking 1:1 individual therapy sessions, mentoring and seven years of conducting mental health workshops. Through it all, I live with one belief - we're all imperfectly perfect.

full version

Hi, I'm Vartika Jain, a counselling psychologist (MSc Clinical Psychology) with 3 years of experience in 1:1 therapy sessions and over 7 years of experience in conducting trainings, workshops, and group experiences on mental health and emotional wellbeing. I've always been drawn to people, their stories, the way they see the world and the quiet complexity of the human mind.

That curiosity is what brought me to counselling psychology, and what keeps me here is simpler: being part of even a small shift in someone's life feels enough.

What that looks like in practice is a space where you don't have to translate yourself. People who have worked with me tend to say they felt genuinely heard, that things were explained in ways that made sense to them — and that it never felt mechanical. That last part matters to me.

I don't think you're here to be fixed. I think you already have what you need to heal — sometimes you just need the right space to find it. That's what I'm here for. My approach in therapy is integrated — drawing from client-centred, humanistic, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural and emotion-focused perspectives.

I work primarily with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, confidence, career and work-related stress, body image, overwhelming emotions and family and relationship dynamics.

Outside of sessions, you'll find me reading, listening to music, watching films and writing — stories, poems, the occasional essay. All of it finds its way into the room, in one form or another.

MY VISION

Why

Unfiltered Self exists

Therapy shouldn't feel like you're being studied. It should feel like you're finally being heard — in a room where the mess is welcome, the silence is okay, and the progress doesn't have to look a certain way.

Unfiltered Self was built for everyone who has felt the need to present themselves in a certain way before asking for help. You don't. You never did.

The aim is simple: create a space where young adults can explore themselves honestly, at their own pace, without pretence, and leave a little more equipped to navigate whatever comes next.

"People don't need to be fixed. Everyone just needs the right space to find what's already in them and accept their imperfectly beautiful selves."
